We are part of a larger network of canopy tours owned, operated, or licensed by parent company Experience Based Learning, Inc. (EBL).  EBL is the largest installer and operator of tours in the United States. We are proud to be the only licensed tour in Idaho as the requirements for training, operation, and safety are more stringent than other tours. This makes being an EBL licensed and operated tour a special achievement.

Further, we operate to or surpass the ANSI Accredited Standards Developer Professional Ropes Course Association (PRCA) safety standards for Canopy Zip Line Tours.  More information may be found at PRCA's website.

ABOUT THE BUILDER

In 2002, EBL was approached by a father and son team from Maui Hawaii with a quest was to develop the first commercial Zip Line tour in the U.S. (from our post research, the first tour was actually installed in Lake Toxaway, NC in June 1999). EBL co-designed, installed, and trained this first Hawaii program for the first three years of operation.  EBL has now installed 5 tours in Hawaii and assisted in starting those businesses from the ground up.

Since 2002, EBL went on to install tours in Kauai Hawaii, the first tour in Alaska in Ketchikan, and the first tour in Juneau, Alaska. In 2005, EBL installed its first "owned" tour, leased the tour to the local company to operate, and provided ongoing repairs, training, and business assistance for the next three years. In 2006 and 2007, EBL installed our largest project to date for the newest U.S. ski resort, Tamarack Ski Resort in Donnelley, Idaho. This tour challenged EBL to create a tour not found anywhere else in the world. With a mix of ground-to-ground zip lines, tree to tree zip lines, zip line off granite cliffs (Idaho Batholith to be precise) and zips into the high arboreal canopy of Ponderosa Pines of 115 feet off the ground!

Today, EBL can boast more experience, more tours installed and more tours owned than our competition.

EBL is an Accredited Vendor with the Professional Ropes Course Association (PRCA) and is listed as a Qualified Zip Line / Canopy Tour Professional. We are proud to be the first and only company presently in the United States to have achieved this status.

The PRCA is a contemporary and progressive association that supports the development and regulation of the ropes challenge course and canopy tour / zip line industry. Established in 2003, the PRCA has achieved tremendous accomplishments from industry insurance to becoming the first ANSI Accredited Standards Developer for the industry. Currently the PRCA has an active draft standards within the ANSI review process and public reviews since 2006.

As the industry’s first American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Accredited Standards Developer (ASD) since 2005, the primary goals of the PRCA is to produce and manage ropes challenge course and zip line / canopy tour standards, be a advocate for the development of the ropes challenge course industry, and an ANSI ASD governing voice for the continued advancement of the industry and self regulation.

Currently, the PRCA holds the first and only ANSI ANS for Ropes Courses, Zip Lines, and Aerial Adventures courses; March 2014.
